    AUG 17/2017 LXQT Test day

Information about LXQT test day is available on this site

http://fedoraplanet.org/ and scroll for additional information

Tuesday, 2017-08-17, is the DNF 2.0 Test Day! As part of this planned Change for Fedora 26, we need your help to test LxQT!
    Why test LxQT?

LXQt is the Qt port and the upcoming version of LXDE, the Lightweight Desktop Environment. It is the product of the merge between the LXDE-Qt and the Razor-qt projects: A lightweight, modular, blazing-fast and user-friendly desktop environment.

We hope to see whether it’s working well enough and catch any remaining issues.
    We need your help!

All the instructions are on the wiki page, so please read through and come help us test! As always, the event will be in #fedora-test-day on Freenode IRC.

sadly a single digit turnout of testers pretty much rendered that test day pointless.

Re: AUG 17/2017 LXQT Test day

    lack of publicity i think...

EDIT: lxqt really lacks a lot of tools currently and I don't think people pointing out a missing feature will be considered a bug...

EDIT2: example: no abrt, no keyring, no gui system monitor, no sddm login settings editor

but then again, it tries to be more qt centric, this means no or minimal gtk/kde apps, so I dunno...

EDIT3: heck I even go so far to beg them to include gvfs if not automount probably won't work at all... (to manjaro people saying gvfs is gtk, bad words on you)

I actually tested what I could, but decided to only flag failures. For what I tested (including command line stuff), I had no issues.

Re: AUG 17/2017 LXQT Test day

well I went off the results submitted via the web page tool which doesn't show anything much. the per test submission form has three options, pass, fail, info. you are supposed to follow the links, read the test procedures. follow them and then indicate all results and provide comments if deemed appropriate.

the progress since I last tried it with F25 is huge

the test wasn't meant for people to point out missing features but follow a pre-defined set of functionality and usage scenarios for what IS there, automounts and keyring usage included.
