Smile Printing failure in Fedora 26

My printer failed after a recent cups update, during the problem of sorting out cups my printer was somehow deleted!

I have reinstalled the system-config-printer file and installed the printer, but when I try to connect the printer server it comes up with the following error message:-

    Check server Firewall

It is not possible to connect to the server.
Please check to see if a firewall or router configuration is blocking TCP Port 632 on server '192.168.1.12'

When setting the server settings I didn't 'check' the allow Internet printing. Is this where i went wrong?

    Any advice very welcome..

    Kind Regards

Hi Southmost, it's a Networked printer, via the ethernet cable. And it's a Xerox Phaser printer.

    Does that help?

Re: Printing failure in Fedora 26

Yesterday's updates have damaged the Fedora26 Gnome's ability to print. I have created a bug report for the maintainers.

I printed two pages of a document from Gnome, then while I was reviewing it, I ran updates.
    After the updates

NO! NO! the updates killed printing (from USB).

Fortunatly I have an xfce 26 and a Gnome F25, and I am able to print from these two distributions.

Re: Printing failure in Fedora 26

Somehow After the problem with the cupsllibs file my printer was deleted.

I have managed to reinstall it, but when I try and connect to the server I get the following error message:- Check Server Firewall, it is not possible to connect to the server. Please check to see if a firewall or router configuration is blocking TCP port 631 on server '192.168.1.12'

I have not been able to figure out how to correct this?

    Any help would be appreciated..

    Kind Regards
