How to get Anaconda (F26) to limit size of installation.

Hi Everyone.. For the most part I am a lurker who tries to learn by reading.

I have searched and read through many of the threads dealing with some of the problems with the Anaconda installer, none of which have answered the question I have.

I have been running F14 for quite a long time. Installation on F14 expressly asked the user, and I paraphrase here, "Do you want to use the entire drive?". I was surprised when trying to install F26 that there is no longer that option in Anaconda.

Computers and Fedora are not the biggest things in life for me but as I am in my 88th year of life I try to work with challenges to keep my mind active thus the desire to update from F14.

In order to get better performance from the old (2006) 32bit HP laptop on which I was running F14 I bought and installed a new SSD. The machine is already at max capacity of RAM. I don't need to buy a new laptop for the things I do and I don't do a lot at the command prompt as was necessary in the 70s and 80s but am comfortable doing. I do appreciate the various attempts at graphical interfaces for most things.

My frustration is with getting Anaconda to allow me to manually assigned partitions and use only a portion of that rather large, for me, SSD. I have been unable to find any reference to documentation or command input that will enable me to limit the amount of space in which to load F26.

When choosing automatic partitioning I am unable to edit the results. When I choose the manual partitioning option and enter the size desired, clicking on update changes results in, not the size I entered but various sizes most of which are less than 5MiB.

I would appreciate someone pointing me in the proper direction for reading or any help in what I am seeking to accomplish.

    Thanks.

Personally, I'd burn a copy of gparted, set my partition sizes and install once set.

that's exactly what I do. It's a far simpler process. Also MATE-Compiz live contains GParted which is handy and saves a little time booting multiple media.
