    Fedora 26 can't create a wireless connection

    Hey guys,

I just installed Fedora 26 on my desktop because I'm fed up with Windows 10 and heard many great things about Linux.

After booting up Linux I don't see any option for wireless internet access, I don't have Ethernet so that's not an option.

I tried out various things that worked for other forum members, and can't seem to find out the problem.

I'm guessing I'm missing some drivers?

    Thanks for your time,
    Paul

That's probably the case. If you run lspci does it show the card? (One of the last two or three entries).

Welcome to the Fedora Forum. I am using Gnome desktop. If you are as well have you tried clicking on the 'upper right corner' of your desktop. Then click on the 'wrench/screwdriver' icon on the bottom left. It will bring up a menu. Click on the Network item and see if you can see any Wireless Networks. On my ACER laptop the first entry in the new window is WiFi and you should see you Wireless Access Point and/or Router. From there click on you wireless network (I assume it is Broadcasting). Click on the little 'pin wheel' icon if your network shows up. It probably requires you enter a 'password' or whatever. You may have already done this but if not it should give you a good start. Cheers...
    Robert :)

Tried what you said Robert, the option for wifi doesn't show, only wired and network proxy come up.

Smr, did what you said and come to find out I do have a wireless network controller/adapter from broadcom.

rpmfusion has broadcom wireless modules that may support your device. It isn't guaranteed of course so check the specific model against the list on this page
