    WINE for windows soft

    Hi!

When I worked in Fedora 16 I used Wine for simple windows software.

After crash of SATA /dev/sda I changed from 16 to 25. How to install

Wine in new Fedora 25 through command line in terminal as it was in 16?

    Regards,
    Sergey.

Maybe it's a second language thing, but are you suggesting people download and run a random binary which appears to have nothing to do with the desktop display issues you're having? I don't think you'll have many takers of that offer...

Re: WINE for windows soft - Desktop FULLY CLOSED

Well, it is very strange new Desktop where I can't create a new folder, files and other object how it was on Fedora 16. Why this new Desktop is FULLY clear, without any links and closed for working with it?

    Re: WINE for windows soft

Which desktop/spin are you using? Gnome/KDE/Mate etc? Personally I use Window Maker so I'm likely to be no help in this thread, on the plus side my desktop hasn't changed much since about '96.

    Re: WINE for windows soft

    yes that's GNOME 3

To install KDE or any other desktop alongside GNOME:

    sudo dnf grouplist
sudo dnf groupinstall "name of chosen desktop environment's group goes in here"

if you are used to GNOME 2 from Fedora 16 try out MATE

submit it to one of the free online scanning services offered by leading commercial antivirus vendors please. don't try sharing files you are unsure of in the forum with other users.

QDictionary.exe is an excellent dictionary English-Russian-English and I worked with it many years through WINE without any problems. It was excellently working in Fedora 16 ! But in F25 disappeared bottom line of Desktop where must be the label of this software because it doesn't have an opened window on the screen.

    Re: WINE for windows soft

that's GNOME 3 changes vs. GNOME 2, nothing to do with changes to QDictionary. That's why I suggested MATE because clearly it would suit your usage patterns more.

Thank you, you are fully right - MATE is good. I will do it at next week. Strange noise appeared in basic part of my notebook.
