    Rdesktop to Server 2016

I have a new MS Server 2016 Essentials server that I need to rdesktop to. I can rdekstop and the login screen for the server shows up, but it refuses to accept my user name/password.

    Anyone having similar issues?

    Thanks.

Does it give any sort of error message? I know that at times, various versions of rdesktop haven't worked with various versions of Windows. The most reliable seems to be remmina with the rdp plugin.

    Re: Rdesktop to Server 2016

    Ok,

Found the issue. Its a new server build and I have never used 2016. When I rdesktop into the server it tries to log me in with a server name not a domain name. Once I changed to the domain login everything worked fine.

Just goes to show, the more you know the more mistakes you make.

Thanks for everyone for the replies.
