I test F26 rawhide, with kde, and since last update there is problem:
I can logging in kde, but I have no background, no bar, and when I right-clik on desktop nothing appear.

    In .xsession-errors Ihave this:

Question Re: kde don't work since last update

    Hello Dominik,

    Could you, please:
    [1] do dnf upgrade --refresh
    [2] reboot
[3] try kwin after new kernel and packages installed?

    If the same (crashing):
    [dominique@host-192-168-1-2 ~]$ kwin
KWin : impossible d'obtenir la sélection du gestionnaire, un autre gestionnaire de fenêtres est il en fonctionnement ? (essayez d'utiliser « --replace »)
Application::crashHandler() called with signal 11; recent crashes: 1
    KCrash: Application 'kwin_x11' crashing...
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)
    [dominique@host-192-168-1-2 ~]$
[4] do strace kwin and complete results (.log), please, post here!

    Thank you,
    _nobody_

Talking Re: kde don't work since last update

    Hello Dominik,

Thank you for posting me what I requested... And I apologize not coming to you faster.

I did some partial analysis and identified three potential problems. Let us start from the toughest one, I think (I might have it correct):

    poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN|POLLOUT}], 1, -1) = 1 ([{fd=3, revents=POLLOUT}])
    writev(3, [{iov_base="b0\6\0\17\0\2\0", iov_len=8}, {iov_base="XInputExtension", iov_len=15}, {iov_base="\0", iov_len=1}], 3) = 24

Seems, that some resource, communicating via sockets (via network mechanism) is not available.

Seems, that KWIN (front end) and X11 (backend) are communicating via sockets, somehow, and they are failing this communication??? Why?

    I need to analyze more!

Question Re: kde don't work since last update

And, YES, it is very clear from your initial logs:

Here is to read the basics: http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...ksmserver.html

And here is the interesting thread: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?...98769&start=15

What I am getting, is that KDE DT front-end somehow could not communicate with Xserver (back-end), so there is something not configured right, or missing.

I think we all here need sratnikican with his d-bus GFX definitions!
