Folders on Desktop?
I've just recently starting using Fedora 25, after using Ubuntu & Mint for about 2 months. One thing I haven't been able to figure out (I've checked Google and this forum) is how to create folders on the desktop and add applications to them to make access quicker and easier. In Ubuntu and its derivatives, I could just right-click on the desktop, select Add New Folder, them click on the folders, select Copy To, and, voila, there it is. This doesn't work for me in Fedora. Can this be done, is there a way to accomplish this or something similar in Fedora 25?

Re: Folders on Desktop?
Welcome.
GNOME philosophy is that you don't need icons on Desktop, Desktop is for wallpaper But I think there is some extension that allows that, but it doesn't work currently on Wayland, only on Xorg. There is a bug report for that. Apparently GNOME Classic allows icons on desktop if this solution is acceptable to you.
You can switch between "GNOME Classic", "Gnome on Xorg" or regular "Gnome" on Wayland on login screen by using small gear icon.

Re: Folders on Desktop?
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'll consider trying Xorg.
