    F23 ree/fedora/updates/23/x86_64/repodata missing?... 404

Quick search on forum - nothing related seems to be currently under discussion...

Last couple of days I had a failure of updates:
WARNING Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'rpmfusion-free-updates', disabling.

    looking in /var/log/dnf.log:
    Code:
DEBUG error: Status code: 404 for http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/updates/23/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml
same for each of the listed repo's at
    http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorl...23&arch=x86_64
    :
    Code:
    # repo = free-fedora-updates-released-23 arch = x86_64 country = GB country = RU country = MK country = FR country = NL country = CZ country = DE country = IS country = UA

Indeed, browsing to one of the locations,
    http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/d...tes/23/x86_64/

reveals an absence of the expected folders:
    repodata
    repoview

    - this is not just a DNS issue.

What can I do about this?

Contact the rpmfusion infrastructure team and ask them when they're archiving F23 content on their servers. They may have done so already since Fedora 23 will be end of life in 5 days

Damn, just get comfortable with a version and they consign it to the bin!

I hope I can upgrade now without these updates being applied.

depending on what other third-party repositories you have enabled the upgrade should go okay. rpmfusion are ready for fedora 25.

fedora project's lifecycle is fairly short because it is basically a development operating system for RHEL so you will find this will happen roughly every 12 months. the project releases on average two versions a year and supports only two versions for the most part. a month after the current release goes live the second version back becomes end of life. this gives users a month's grace to test and upgrade systems to newer builds while still receiving any necessary security patches.
