Brightness keys not working KDE plasma
Hey all,
My brightness hotkeys dont work but all the other hotkeys work without any issue.
Im using a Acer Gateway laptop NV57H which has Nvidia Optimus technology, what this means is I have two different graphis cards in my laptop. I have a intergrated video card being the intel one and the other being a nvidia card.
When I press on the brigbhtness key it shows the picture and recogonises that im trying to change the brightness however the screen brightness stays the same.
Can anyone please help me
Thanks

Re: Brightness keys not working KDE plasma
Issue has been solved solution is below.
1. Open a terminal and create the following configuration file, if it does not exist:
2. sudo touch /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
3. Now we need to edit this file. You can use any editor be it a terminal one or graphical.
4. sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
5. Add the following lines to this file:
Section "Device"
Identifier "card0"
Driver "intel"
Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection
6. Save it. Log out and log in back. The brightness control should be working through function keys now:

Wow. Thanks a bunch, @daninozz. This worked for me even on Fedora 32 KDE. (Acer Aspire 4810T, Intel GMA 4500MHD)
