    Keyboard stops responding to input.

    Hi,

    Keyboard stops responding to input.
    Happens after switching users.
Happens after resuming from suspend (maybe hibernate)
Happens after resuming from screen lock

Xorg.log does not show any errors or warnings.
    Graphics driver is NOUVEAU

    Chipset:
    Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0126] (rev 09)
    01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GF108GLM [Quadro 1000M] [10de:0dfa] (rev a1)
But the video is still operating and the pointer can be moved via the trackpad.

Any suggestions where to troubleshoot next, please?

Re: Keyboard stops responding to input.

Is the machine still reachable from other machines with ssh (or even pinging). It sounds similar, though not identical, to the sort of issues that people sometimes find with the Nouveau drivers. (Not identical, because usually those are completely frozen.)

It might be worth trying to install the NVidia drivers if you have no philisophical objection, and seeing if that helps the problem.

Re: Keyboard stops responding to input.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I also want to add that the trackpad buttons do not respond to being pressed when the issue is occurring.

I have not yet tested using SSH but if I had to guess I would say that it does work.

I cannot prove that it is the video driver but switching drivers would bisect a bit so I'll try that too.

    Thanks

Re: Keyboard stops responding to input.

Sorry about my lack of haste on this issue but it is still happening.

The pointer moves on the screen but the time-of-day display is frozen with the time that the system suspended.

This message repeats in the journal:
    Code:
    Aug 31 14:54:30 hermes dbus-daemon[756]: [system] Rejected: destination has a full message queue, 0 matched rules; type="signal", sender="(unset)" ((bus)) interface="org.freedesktop.DBus" member=" NameOwnerChanged" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="org.freedesktop.DBus" (uid=1000 pid=26965 comm="/usr/bin/gnome-shell ")
also I see this message as well:
    Code:
Aug 31 14:54:34 hermes kernel: snd_hda_intel 0000:01:00.1: Cannot lock devices!
    The soundcard is:
    Code:
00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller [8086:1c20] (rev 04)
Using a USB mouse does not change anything compared to using the laptop's trackpad.

    Thanks

Re: Keyboard stops responding to input.

This issue turned out to be
    https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93828

It appears to have been fixed in Fedora 26 except that the version number from nouveau still says "nouveau 1.3.1 20120801" in dmesg, which can't be the right year-month-day.
