    F23: mount Samsung Galaxy S5

I tried a number of things I've seen on the web to mount my Samsung Galaxy S5 in my F23 USB port. Perhaps the most promising was:

    mkdir /mnt/android/
    simple-mtpfs /mnt/android/
    mount.fuse /dev/sg2 /mnt/android/
    which resulted in:
    /dev/sg2: Permission denied

At least there seems to be something there to deny permission.
BTW, the log shows that it is /dev/sg2 that appears when I plug in my phone.

    Thanks for your help.
    Mike.

Re: F23: mount Samsung Galaxy S5

For my USB connected Nexus 7 tablet and LG Android phone.....

I have created a directory /media/n7. The "n7" directory is owned by me the user.
    Code:
    $ ll -d /media/n7
    drwxr-xr-x. 2 paul paul 4096 Dec 23 2013 /media/n7
As user paul I simply do:
    Code:
    simple-mtpfs /media/n7
And either Android device mounts without fuss and I have full r/w privileges. I do not use the "mount.fuse" command as there is not need to. To unmount, again as regular user:
    Code:
    fusermount -u /media/n7

Googing its model number I get USB 3.0 .

Thanks PabloTwo. Following your example I did "su - myuser", and tried to duplicate what you reported. It does not work for me. Could it be that I have to "root" the phone? I was hoping to avoid that because it voids the warranty.

Instead of doing "su - myuser", I logged off root, and logged in as myuser. It now works.
    Thanks,
    Mike.
