    Issue with 3 monitor setup

    Hi,

    I am using a 3 monitor setup on Fedora 23 (64bit).
The primary device is NVidia with two monitors and the secondary is integrated Intel VGA.
    Using default nouveau driver.

    So far the issues are:
    1. The system randomly freezes forcing a hard reboot. Same issue persists with Ubuntu. Tried Wayland too. Nothing changes. The 3 monitor set-up works perfectly well on Windows 10, therefore it is a driver/configuration issue.
    2. A copy of the mouse pointer is stuck in the centre of the main display after login. It stays on top of all windows. Sometimes switching to a new session and back helps to get rid of it.
    3. The mouse pointer is flickering on monitors connected to nvidia but never on intel-connected monitor.

Could you please help me out in solving these issues, especially the 1st one? I can live with issues 2 and 3.

    What information would you need?
Seems that Fedora's syslog is cleared on every startup. Where could I find the old logs?

    Thanks,
    Gin

PS. gnome-system-log does not start saying:

    Code:
    # gnome-system-log
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

    (logview:4532): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

Re: Issue with 3 monitor setup

That is a hard question, gpu drivers and/or multiple monitors setups doesn't work perfectly last time that I read about ii. You can use journalctl command to access logs. For boot log from last boot you can use:
    Code:
    journalctl -b -1
I guess first step is to find out which driver freezes system.

    Thanks semiRocket.

I disabled the integrated intel VGA in the attempt to avoid those freezes. Didn't help.

Looked at the last boot logs (with intel disabled) and here what I found:

Re: Issue with 3 monitor setup

This does indeed look bad. I don't have any experience with nvidia drivers but maybe there is some official binary drivers available that would work better.

Sorry I don't have any better advice.

Re: Issue with 3 monitor setup

Back to the start: I now have a stable (hopefully) configuration with nvidia and two monitors.

Had to downgrade X11 to a stable Fedora 22 release and then installed nvidia drivers. Otherwise it was impossible to work.
Apparently f23 ships with a pre-release version not supported by nvidia (why pre-release??).

Now is the question: how do I configure x11 for intel vga and the monitor?
