    Audacity won't import MP3

I've had audacity on F21 KDE Spin and F22 MATE spin. Both installs I can't get audacity to import MP3 files. It will export as MP3, but not export. I went into the Plugins preferences and everything seemed fine. Has anybody run into this and found a cure?

    Re: Audacity won't import MP3

If I remember correctly, Audacity in the main repos has certain restrictions to the use of the mp3 file format However, the audacity-freeworldin the rpmfusion repos doesn't have those restrictions.

    Code:
    dnf remove audacity
    dnf install audacity-freeworld
    Should do the trick.

    CronoCloud is correct.

Either you install the freeworld version from RPM Fusion or recompile Audacity with MP3 support.

Here is a webpage that explains all that: https://techwords.io/audacity-mp3-support-fedora/
