    Building libdvdcss

    As i just had to reinstall my system, figured me also miss libdvdcss.
    While i need break from my ffmpeg compiling attempt, this is a single one and i thought it would not be that hard...

    Oh well
    Code:
    git clone git://git.videolan.org/libdvdcss
    cd libdvdcss
    /* EDIT: With this it works:
    Code:
    autoreconf -i
    ./configure --prefix=/usr
    make && sudo make install
    */
    Code:
    sudo dnf install make autoconf automake gcc

    Nothing to do.
    Complete!
    Code:
    $ grep conf INSTALL
    A typical way to configure libdvdcss is:
      ./configure --prefix=/usr
    See `./configure --help' for more information.
      autoreconf -i
    Once configured, run `make' to build libdvdcss.
    configuring libdvdcss to enable the "key" method (the one from libcss).
      Tell configure about the compiler to use. If you run, for example, Debian or
      ./configure --host=i586-mingw32msvc
      ./configure
    Code:
    $ ./configure --prefix=/usr
    bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
    Code:
    $ lla

    lol, should have tried harder before writing

    Just had to 'switch' the order of invocations.

    Code:
    autoreconf -i
    ./configure --prefix=/usr
    make && sudo make install
    Note that autoreconf comes before the configure, unlike the INSTALL says.

    All done

    Re: Building libdvdcss

    nice work sea. I took the lazy route and used remi's compiled package for F22.

    Sourceforge also have an alternative for F22. Details and download links for both at rpmfind

    http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...uery=libdvdcss

    Have a nice weekend

    Re: Building libdvdcss

    You can simply get it from remi repository, this is the one from there I installed:

    libdvdcss-1.3.0-1.fc22.remi.x86_64

    What I did was

    wget -c http://rpms.famillecollet.com/fedora...emi.x86_64.rpm

    dnf install ./libdvdcss-1.3.0-1.fc22.remi.x86_64.rpm

    because I don't want the remi repository defined in my system but just wanted this one file from there.

    Note, the board insists on ellipsisizing the URL, make sure to mouse select the URL and do a "copy link address" to paste it into your command. If you see "..." in the URL it's wrong.

    Re: Building libdvdcss

    I'm aware of the repo, in fact, the latest thread with the reference to the repo pushed me to compile it

    Ok, it takes a bit more of the screen, but its not even taking 10 secs to install, syncing the repo/rpm usualy takes longer or the same time.

    Re: Building libdvdcss

    You normally install stuff from source in /usr, when installing system wide?
    I never dare doing so on a package management distro.
    I have only one thing I need to get from source and that is MakeMKV. It also by default points to /usr, but /usr is for packages only, the prefix otherwise always should be /usr/local.

    Unless something changed.

    Re: Building libdvdcss

    Well, if zou do the rpm installation, it-ll be installed in /usr too.
    And zes, i prefer /usr over /usr/local, plazs better together if zou build things based on libs zou alreadz have installed, less hayyle passing the right paths if zou use the -real- default paths, though, one could break things with -total unknown stuff-, but i do not count libdvdcss to such a thing.
