    installing the TDP rpms in /opt is a good solution. it brings your choice of LO versions to your choice of Fedora versions, without having to fight with packages that have build errors, and without trying to convince devs that there really is a problem in their packages.

    cheers bob for your comments and the non-GUI removal method. Indeed, the normal language is en_US. Language packs and help translations are only required if you use another language for the desktop environment.
