    Exclamation F16 Installation wont boot

    Hi All,

I have a brand new samsung laptop (NP-RF511-A02DX) and I have tried installing Fedora 16 a few times now on it.

The installation goes fine until the part where you have to reboot, when I do reboot it won't load grub at all and just says

"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Media in selected boot device and press a key"

I tried installing from different media incase it was the discs I was using but still no joy.

Earlier I noticed and option on the BIOS POST Screen that says "Recovery F4" This was the samsung recovery partition I suspect.

So I thought I'd try it, when I hit F4 It loaded grub and booted Fedora fine.

It's confused me! can anyone help me fix it so it boots properly.

Check your boot device options/order in your BIOS....

    How strange,
I take it you allowed grub to be installed in MBR (default option)

Yes everything was default I just told it to use the entire disk.

I just tried installing a few other operating systems and they boot fine. So it looks like it might be related to anaconda and whatever it is doing.

    Re: F16 Installation wont boot

It Looks like it was the GPT issue. I passed the "nogpt" flag to the installer and it booted as expected.

Trying it with UEFI enabled/disabled didn't make a difference before the nogpt option was passed.
