    XAMPP and Fedora 15

Okay, so this is something that I've done before, but that was when I used Ubuntu... Now I use Fedora 15. I'm trying to set up a XAMPP server. Now I got it installed in the /opt/lampp directory. I tested it by going to http://localhost and everything seemed fine. I went into my Netgear router, turned on port fowarding and pointed it towards the server. When I go to my IP from and computer nothing shows up. I tried putting the port (80) in with the address, with still no luck. Now I am pretty sure I am doing the same thing I did in Ubuntu. Now is there something in Fedora that prevents this, or do I need to go back and retrace my steps?

P.S. I also tried installing Apache but something went wrong during the
    Code:
    make install
    step -__-

firewall and SELinux ? try turning them off to diagnose the problem
I think I read some posts about XAMPP not getting along with SELinux

if you have a newer computer and a bunch of memory in it maybe you could run it in a VM with ubuntu

Here is a guide how to set up a Apache server under Fedora. Maybe it helps.

    Re: XAMPP and Fedora 15

Okay, now it is leading to the webpage, but XAMPP is giving me a page that says: "New XAMPP security concept:

Access to the requested directory is only available from the local network.

This setting can be configured in the file "httpd-xampp.conf"."

What do I change in that file to let it be accessed from out of my network?

    Thanks for your help.

    Could be
    1) the new xampp security concept
    more likley:
    2) firewall needs port 80 (8080) to be open, to be accessed from outside.
