    ath0 fails to load (madwifi)

I am using AR9285 Atheros card. I installed the Madwifi driver, modprobed ath_pci and then blacklisted ath9k as instructed in the wiki. After this, I rebooted the system. But still ath driver didn't load.

When I do ' wlanconfig ath create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta', it gives an error

    Code:
    wlanconfig: ioctl: No such device
    lsmod |grep ath gives

    Code:
    ath9k 86167 0
    ath9k_common 5294 1 ath9k
    ath9k_hw 283034 2 ath9k,ath9k_common
    ath 9505 2 ath9k,ath9k_hw
    mac80211 229063 2 ath9k,ath9k_common
    cfg80211 134981 4 ath9k,ath9k_common,ath,mac80211
dmesg gives no listing of 'wifi'. In fact, there is not a single sign of ath0.

    How shall I fix this?
