    Broadcom Wireless BCM4312

I can't seem to get my Broadcom BCM4312 wireless up and running in Fedora 15. I have both free and non-free repos installed. I have had the best luck in Linux Mint with the STA drvs. but the STA drivers in the Fedora non-free repos for Fedora 15 is for Fedora 14 so won't work with the Fedora 15 kernel. Any Help is much appreciated.....

    TIA

I think that you miss kmod-wl for your kernel version
    compare the version numbers from
    Code:
    rpm -qa | grep kmod-wl
    and
    Code:
    uname -a
If you can't find the appropriate version in rpmfusion install akmod-wl and let it build it on your machine for the running kernel

    Re: Broadcom Wireless BCM4312

Thanx man......installed akmod-wl, rebooted and the wireless is working great on my Lenovo S-10. I am really liking F15......I am getting used to Gnome 3 after a short learning curve I am liking what I see so far. Much better
than Ubuntu Unity. Give the Gnome dev. some time and I think it is really going to be awesome.

I used the one that had f14 in the filename. I assume it was meant for fedoda 14......but it worked....after you install it, reboot and your wirelesz should be good to go, !!

Me too, this is very frustrating. Did you un-install any of the broadcom files (b43-fwcuter or b43-openfwwf) prior to installing akmod-wl?

Anybody have any ideas? I want to get rid of my other distro but can't get wireless working with this card.

Found some older posts and installed the kernel-PAE, it successfully built the driver and wireless is now working. Going to do a full install on my netbook tonight.

    Re: Broadcom Wireless BCM4312

you can extract the firmware from that Broadcom driver by using b43-fwcutter (or bcm43xx-fwcutter) and install it for firmware.

    first, download the driver http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources...0.10.5.tar.bz2.
second, extract and copy firmware to /lib/firmware directory

    tar xjf broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
    cd broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver
    b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware/ wl_apsta_mimo.o

    please refer to address: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43
My wireless chip is BCM4311, it's working. good luck.
