F14 - ATI Dual Monitor Failed after update

    Hi,

I was using dual monitor on my Fedora 14. I followed leigh123linux's instruction and I was successful. However I cannot use the dual monitor any more - just see the cloned two monitors... I suspect something happened during update. ATI catalyst control center says I need to run it as superuser, but I do not know how to. Can you let me know how can I solve this proble?? Thank you.

does the command amdcccle work? The command xrandr can also be used to set up your screens if catalyst control center is not good enough.

    Fenrin and Cygn,

Thanks for your help. I've tried but it failed....

    Code:
    su -c amdcccle
    **
    GLib-GIO:ERROR:gdbusconnection.c:2270:initable_init: assertion failed: (connection->initialization_error == NULL)
and when I typed "xrandr" then it showed as below.

    I solved the problem.

I added a subsection under the “Screen” section in my xorg.conf.

    Code:
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
Modes "1440x900" "1440x900" #the resolutions of your monitors
    Virtual 2880 800
    EndSubSection
    Thanks!!

Re: F14 - ATI Dual Monitor Failed after update

    Hi again!

I told you that I solved the problem by adding a subsection under the “Screen” section in my xorg.conf.
    (more details: http://maketecheasier.com/how-to-set...ndr/2009/06/01)

However, the problem occurs again when I reboot my Fedora14. How can I keep the correct setting permanently?

    Thanks,
    Namshik
