    Smart card and Fedora

    Hi there. I am helping a customer who has a USB AC38 smart card reader, and a Siemens CardOS inside. The system is Fedora 13, 64 bit.

    I have installed pcscd and it can see the AC38, and it apparently can read the card, as I am getting the card's ATR.

    I also downloaded and untarred "HiPath SIcurity Card API V3.1 PKCS#11 for Linux" http://www.famzah.net/download/sieme...0_Linux.tar.gz
    file.

    However, the web site complains that libsiecap11.so cannot be loaded., although it exists in /usr/lib..

    Was anyone able to get this to work?
    Many thanks, -turgut

    Re: Smart card and Fedora

    Those are 32bit libraries ....
    $ file *.so
    libsiecadlg.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, not stripped
    libsiecap11.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, not stripped
    Which is fine if the app is 32bit also.

    Ii looks like those libraries are in /usr/local/lib - right ?
    To get the system to register those libraries do this as root:

    echo "/usr/local/lib" >> /etc/ld.so.conf.d/hipath.conf
    ldconfig

    Then try the command again. It should find the library then.
