    Bookmark management

Something that has been bothersome for quite a while is managing bookmarks. I have several computers here at home, some of them running several OS's. I also have one computer at work. I would like to have one master list of all my bookmarks available to me regardless of what computer I'm using. There are services available on the web to do this for me. I imagine that there is also software available too. My question? Do you centralize your bookmarks? If so, how do you do it?

I've used the Xmarks extension in Firefox (used to be Foxmarks) for quite a while. It's a free online bookmark repository. You can sync to your online page or upload or download bookmarks to/from a machine with a couple of clicks.

You can have multiple profiles and you can edit them online also. It also works with IE, Safari. Google Chrome, etc.

    Re: Bookmark management

Perhaps a bit clunky, but my personal website has a bookmarks page that I've created. Just a series of links in table form, with additional pages for sub-groups of interest. That does the trick for me. Easy to access from any machine, anytime.

A +1 for Xmarks. I've been using the same account for Firefox, Chromium, and Chrome bookmarks, and it's worked out great.

If you are using Firefox on these machines, you may be interested in Firefox sync

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/sync/

While this feature will be included in the new Firefox 4, there is a plugin available for older versions.

web browser bookmarks? Nautilus Bookmarks? PDF bookmarks? ... almost everything has bookmarks these days. Wish there's a unified way for all BOOKMARKS, some kind of index

I agree, we're all headin to the clouds. Opera, FireFox and Chrome all have builtin sync options though. Well except the older firefox, you'll need to download firefox sync. if your trying to sync across different apps you'll need xmarks.
BTW, if your a KDE user, you can enjoy that "index" of bookmarks via Akonadi.
