could we have a forum area for multimedia/audio/htpc ?

One forum area we don't have is a section for audio/home theater/multimedia for Fedora. Would that be a good idea? This would be a place to post about using Fedora with Mythtv, XBMC, jack and so on.

Hmmm...this rings a bell. Didn't we have a suggestion a couple of years ago on this? Let me check. Good suggestion though, we'll kick it around for sure.

nah not necessarily, audio/multimedia is a category nothing more, yeah to play certain things you need codecs/libraries, but OGG Vorbis, WAV, and a few other formats are supported which aren't dependant on libraries from rpmfusion or other non-standard repos

I was getting interested in this because I've been looking into making and setting up a HTPC and it's very complicated. I also found there are some interesting HTPC products and distros that are Fedora based like Vortexbox and MythDora. Vortexbox 1.6 just came out and it's based on Fedora 14.

Marko, there may not be enough wide-spread interest to create a separate sub-Forum, but there's another way to get interested people to trade info. Under CP, there's the Social Groups where topics of interest are being created and discussed.

Why not start a Social Group for it in there and then post in the Community Lounge that the group exists?
