    FC12-nvidia driver crash

    Hi to all,

    i have tried to install kmod-nvidia drivers for my nVidia device:

    01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 9600M GT (rev a1)
    so :

    Code:
    $ rpm -qa | grep nvidia
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-190.42-2.fc12.i686
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-190.42-2.fc12.i686
    kmod-nvidia-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686-190.42-1.fc12.4.i686
    akmod-nvidia-190.42-1.fc12.4.i686

    $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf
    # RPM Fusion blacklist for nouveau driver - you need to run as root:
    # dracut -f /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r)
    # if nouveau is loaded despite this file.
    blacklist nouveau

    $ uname -r
    2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686
    but this is a error at boot of Fedora

    Try this, I believe it is because you have a xorg.conf.

    Code:
    su
    mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf  /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old1
    nvidia-config-display disable
    nvidia-config-display enable

    Thank you, leigh123linux.

    Now driver works very fine.

    That's all? Which was the problem?

    Xorg.conf, nvidia-config-display didn't like the fact it already existed.
