Totem and Rhythmbox think mp3 files are streams

Sorry for troubling you guys, but if I play an MP3 file in either Totem or Rhythmbox, it thinks it's streaming them, which prevents me from being able to skip to a certain part of the song and the progress bar is greyed out. How do I fix this?

Which Fedora release are you using? Have you updated both applications.

I'm currently using 64-bit Fedora 11. I don't know how to update individual programs. I've uninstalled and re-installed rhythmbox through terminal (yum erase rhythmbox / yum install rhythmbox), but that didn't help. I did update both programs, but that didn't work either. It's been like this since I installed Fedora.

    Try to use this command
    Code:
    yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update gstreamer*
Should it fail to solve the issue, please submit a bug report.

I'm having the same problem, though I'm using Fedora 12 i686 version, installed from the Live CD. Tried to solve the problem reinstalling gstreamer-plugins-bad and gstreamer-plugins-ugly, and also rhythmbox itself. None of them worked.

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on?

Both Totem and Rhythmbox playback are normal on my system, F12 i686.
Do you have the RPMFusion repos enabled? Try:
    Code:
    yum install rhythmbox gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-ffmpeg

Well, apparently, the problem is solved, at least for me. Thanks!

First I reinstalled the packages Laserman mentioned. The problem persisted, but then I found out that Rhythmbox was not recognizing the bitrate of most of my mp3 files. The ones whose bitrate was recognized were "skippable". So I rebuilt my music library and now everything is working just fine.
