    unable to yum libfaac

I'm trying to yum a dependancy of ffmpeg faac but yum is unable to find it.

    sudo yum install libfaac
    Loaded plugins: dellsysidplugin2, priorities, refresh-packagekit
    Setting up Install Process
    No package libfaac available.
    Nothing to do

I've tried downloading the source however the compile fails with this error

    In file included from mp4common.h:29,
    from 3gp.cpp:28:
    mpeg4ip.h:126: error: new declaration ‚char* strcasestr(const char*, const char*)‚
/usr/include/string.h:367: error: ambiguates old declaration ‚const char* strcasestr(const char*, const char*)‚
    make[3]: *** [3gp.o] Error 1

is there a repo that i need to add to get libfaac from?

Since it's an encoder lib for a proprietary format, you must obtain from a 3rd-party repo like RPMFusion.

    Install RPMFusion repo first: http://rpmfusion.org/Configuration

Then try again (BTW, RPM package name is simply faac).

    Try

    Code:
    su
    rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm
    Code:
    su
    yum install faac-devel
    or just install ffmpeg
    Code:
    su
    yum install ffmpeg-libs

P.S your sig says you are running F6 which EOL ( time to update )
