    Compaq Presario CQ61-135TU Sound card issues PLEASE HELP

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-135TU purchased specifically to run Linux Fedora is the best by miles and everything works except I have no joy getting the sound card working (Headphones are fine) can anyone help me to get the right drivers to get the sound card working please?

    In the terminal type
    gedit /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
    It will probably be an empty file
    add these line:

    options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
    options snd-hda-intel model=hp-hdx
    alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
    options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
    This will activate your speakers on next reboot.
