Rhythmbox not showing in notification area

The Rhythmbox package was updated via Yum recently (today for me, out of fedora-updates) and now no longer displays its icon in the notification area. The package for me (Fedora 11 x86-64) is versioned 0.12.3-1. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

    Thanks.

Same problem here but on F11 x86 not x86_64. Entire system is fully up to date.

As mentioned, an icon used to appear in the notification area when minimising rhythmbox and the 'bit' in the lower panel would disappear. Now the 'bit' in the lower panel remains and the icon doesn't appear?!

I tried adding another notification area to the upper panel but that didn't help. As this problem has happened after an update to rhythmbox itself, it may be a bug in the software, rather than a fedora issue.

I would agree with it being a rhythmbox issue...I did a search and saw a similar issue reported with the Ubuntu package.

You might want to check your settings.

In rhythmbox, edit/plugins/status icon. I think all that happened is a default behaviour got changed. I hit configure there, then changed the drop down for status icon to "owns the main window" and mine was back.

    Nice one leadgolem,

I looked long and hard in preferences, but never thought to look in plugins. I really like this feature and was most disappointed when it wasn't working.

    Thanks again

That was it...thanks a ton! Now I have the old behavior back and am happy again. I dug around in the plugins, but missed that one.

    Again, thanks leadgolem!

Are you guys able to play audio cds with the 0.12.3-1 version of rhythmbox? They wouldn't start playing (the time would not increment) here so I reverted to 0.12.1-3 and they play.

Thank you very much, I've been having this problem for a while and never thought to look there.
