    WGET: failed: Name or service not known.

    I just installed F11 and noticed that I cannot use wget although I can browse internet with firefox.

    Code:
    # wget ftp://mirror.ovh.net/download.fedora.redhat.com/linux/releases/11/Fedora/x86_64/iso/Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM
    --2009-06-12 11:55:28--  ftp://mirror.ovh.net/download.fedora.redhat.com/linux/releases/11/Fedora/x86_64/iso/Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM
               => `Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM'
    Resolving mirror.ovh.net... failed: Name or service not known.
    wget: unable to resolve host address `mirror.ovh.net'
    but if i add -4 to wget, it works:

    Code:
    # wget -4 ftp://mirror.ovh.net/download.fedora.redhat.com/linux/releases/11/Fedora/x86_64/iso/Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM
    --2009-06-12 12:17:50--  ftp://mirror.ovh.net/download.fedora.redhat.com/linux/releases/11/Fedora/x86_64/iso/Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM
               => `Fedora-11-x86_64-CHECKSUM'

    and ipv6 is disabled

    Code:
    # more /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
    # Networking Interface
    DEVICE=eth0
    BOOTPROTO=dhcp
    HWADDR=00:23:98:8D:A5:74
    ONBOOT=yes
    TYPE=Ethernet
    NM_CONTROLLED=yes
    USERCTL=yes
    IPV6INIT=no
    NAME="System eth0"
    UUID=5fb06bd0-0bb0-7ffb-45f1-d6edd65f3e03
    DNS2=XXX.XXX.XXX.13
    DNS1=10.0.21.17
    PEERDNS=no
    PEERROUTES=yes
    So I don't understand why I have to use -4 when ipv6 is disabled!
    Anyone has an idea?

    Well, I have SEARCH="GATWAYNAME" or ip
    where GAREWAYNAME is my caching dns sever.

    I assume DNS1=10.0.21.17 is internal
    and
    DNS2=XXX.XXX.XXX.13 is the internet GATEWAY?

    IPV6INIT=YES
    PEERDNS=yes
    Do the Math
