Fedora 11 Radeon test day on Wednesday

Be it hereby announced that this Wednesday, the first of the glorious month of April (ignore Eliot, he was a douche), shall be the Test Day for the radeon video driver. Which is used, as you may already have deduced, for ATI Radeon (and FireGL) video cards. All of 'em.

    http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_D...eon_2009-04-01

If you have such a card, please make all appropriate effort to attend - in #fedora-qa on Freenode, whenever counts as Wednesday daytime for you (there should be someone, either myself, Dave or someone else from the QA department, around all day). See How to use IRC if you're not sure about IRC.

The Wiki page is replete with instructions and test cases and a results table, and will shortly contain up-to-date live CD images (for now, the links point to the Nouveau test day live images, which don't have the latest changes from Rawhide). So it's very easy to test without needing a permanent install of Rawhide or any permanent changes to your system.

We really need testing with as broad as possible a range of Radeon
cards, so if you have one, please do come out and do the tests! Thanks.

I think you should have kept it to Thursday, you're likely to get some bogus feedback on April Fools Day

Thursday's the power management test day.

We're a bit overloaded with test days for this cycle, so we're double-dipping each week . We could've done Tuesday, but Tuesday is Triage Day, I don't want to have to try and look after two events at the same time...

Also, would attend, but the only radion I have, is really old. and in a laptop with only Fedora 10 testing installed :-( CD Drive does not boot, and needs to be install via PXE.

Adam, are the links to the live images of F11 on the given wiki page correct?

If these tests can be done using a live image then I'll attend tomorrow evening, with a HD2600XT on AGP and a X1600Mobile

cool, just downloaded it, will run a test tomorrow.

So these livecd images are cumulative updates of rawhide and will include latest nouveau driver too I assume?

Yes, in fact the links on the Nouveau test page have been updated to point at these images now. They're a snapshot of Rawhide from this morning (so post unfreeze), with rendercheck added.

great, on a X800 Pro all works except for rotation and suspend, will post results on the test page later today.

I think nearly everyone is failing the rotation test.

As a side note, audio and usb wifi adapter (even with static ip in NetworkManager) work too, so F11 is looking good here

btw, there's a problem with the display of the test day page in Firefox 3.0.7, the comments section of the table appears partially obscured on the right and there is no horizontal scroll bar to bring it fully into view.

The results table needs to be moved to the left a bit

it can't be - that's the space reserved for the wiki sidebar.

the table doesn't have any special formatting, it just gets rendered by mediawiki's magic. sounds like it may be a bit buggy. can you post a screenshot? thanks!

    and thanks for the testing.

Notice there is no horizontal scrollbar at the bottom.

It also doesn't help when some of the contributors write lengthy essays about their test in each of the boxes, "post PASS or FAIL" instructions seem to have been disregarded.
