Lost keyboard input in Wine [SOLVED]

After a recent system update I don't have keyboard input anymore in Wine...
Anyone has noticed the same problem?

To test it just try and open Notepad and type something.
Wine does not seem to give any error in the console.

I noticed the same problem only in one other app which is Urban Terror (that *I think* is running natively and not through Wine). I don't care so much about UT being broken, but I have some software that I use for work that absolutely needs keyboard input...

The weirdest thing is that sporadically, some charachter will be printed, like if the keyboard input were lost in the way and only by chance would reach Wine...
I tried booting with a previous version of the kernel and I tried to use a different wine version. None of that helped.

I'm circumventing the issue by writing in gedit and then pasting with the mouse in this software, but it is really time consuming, so any idea on how to solve this annoying problem would be appreciated...

Unfortunately, I don't remember what packages were updated (I'm sure I updated the kernel and the fglrx driver... but I don't remember what else), is there a way to check that?

    Fedora Core 10, kernel 2.6.27.15-170.2.24.fc10.i686.PAE
    Wine version: 1.1.14

Yes, I have had this problem. None of my wine programs will respond to any keyboard input. I was just about to post a new topic but you beat me to it.

Hmmm... did it also happen after a recent update? Do you remember what you updated?

Yes, it just happened today. I don't remember 100% what was updated but I am sure it was the hernel and fglrx

Thanks Muspellson, that solved the problem!!!
I just downgraded SDL and now it all works!

    For anyone who needs it:

    1) Find the SDL package name

    Code:
$ rpm -qa | grep SDL
    SDL_image-1.2.6-6.fc9.i386
    SDL-1.2.13-7.fc10.i386
    2) Download the appropriate SDL-1.2.13-6 package.
    Ex: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i386.rpm.html

    3) Delete 1.2.13-7 without touching the deps
    Code:
    $ sudo rpm -e --justdb --nodeps SDL-1.2.13-7.fc10.i386
    4) Install the 1.2.13.6 rpm by double clicking on the downloaded file

    5) Restart X and rejoy!

    ---

Now I can work all night to finish the work I was not able to do today! That's really lucky!

Ok, this has made it somewhat worse. I can get keyboard input into wine now but it seems to be pressing random keys. If I hold W (I play wow and this is to move forward) The key will "lock" for about ten seconds and then it acts as if I have pressed several other random keys.

Ah ok. I will update then see if there have been any changes. I have been away for the weekend so have been unable to do anything. Thanks for the help again.

Do you know of anyone who would help me with my sound? I posted over a week ago and noone has replied at all.
