Turn Plug and Play off in your bios.

SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address Failed.

I recieved this message because i had a 3com nic installed, even though it wasn't configured.

I was using another nic .... I had to remove the 3com nic before i could get my internet connection
to work.
