I'm so tired of editing the fstab, chown'ing the mount.cifs and umount.cifs, creating a /mnt/share flder and then running a mount command to connect to the drive.

Isn't there a better way to mount a drive as in windows, just connect to the ip, assign a driveletter and go.

I know you can do that with the "Connect to server" from the menu but the problem is that a lot of programs can't handle that server connection. They can't find the drive and if they find the drive the files could not be read. Just two examples is VLC and sdlmame.

So, isn't there a good easy way to do this?
