Vista/Fedora dual boot

I installed Fedora onto one of the partitions on my hard drive. But now when I select "other" from the Fedora Menu at start up, to boot into Vista it says, "Missing BOOTMGR". I tried to do a start up repair with the Vista installation disk but it didn't work.

my system specs are: eMachines Model # T5088
pent. 4 processor
512 MB ram

fdisk -l [-b SSZ] [-u] DISK List partition table(s)
fdisk -s PARTITION Give partition size(s) in blocks
fdisk -v Give fdisk version
Here DISK is something like /dev/hdb or /dev/sda
and PARTITION is something like /dev/hda7
-u: give Start and End in sector (instead of cylinder) units
-b 2048: (for certain MO disks) use 2048-byte sectors

That fdisk option is a lower case L. Not a number one. It's hard to tell the difference in some fonts. Try again and post that, too.

Try opening the file /boot/grub/grub.conf with a text editor like this...

gedit /boot/grub/grub.conf

Change the "Other" section here...

...to this...

Save the file and close gedit. Reboot and see if that helps any.

I did what you suggested and it did not work.....................I still get the "missing BOOTMGR" messege.

Well (hd0,0) and (hd0,1) are the only two possibilites for Windows according to your fdisk. If neither of those work, then something really bad has happened. But first, to be thorough, post your new grub.conf one more time.

You only changed the title command. Go back to my original suggestion and study it carefully. You need to change the rootnoverify command. I only did the title command change to make your menu look nice. It's the rootnoverify command that is causing your trouble.
