Voice which desktop environment you use. Feel free to check multiple options if you truely use more than one. For me, I use GNOME and Fluxbox alla the time

    What about you?

edit: If a mod would like to stick this, feel free to do so. *cough*

When I first started with Linux I was using KDE but after a year found it annoying and tried Gnome. Never looked back!

Gnome - but for no good reason. I started using gnome back on RH9.3?(or was it 7.5?) and frankly it was pretty weak. It's much stronger and more rugged today but .... wow it's sometimes a b*tch to configure.

Gnome, just because it turned out to be like that when I started, for no specific reason.
    :) Fedora 15 :)

As I use older ( = lower spec. ) hardware XFCE is my DE of choice, nice to see that more distros. are offering dedicated XFCE versions.
To get the right answer, one must first ask the right question!

    Fully openbox, love simplicity =p

Before I was a Gnome user too, KDE I've never used, always thought it was ugly lol.

Openbox is my favorite, but KDE has always been my main DE. GNOME once in a while, but its relative slowness soon drives me back to KDE or openbox.

Even though I am running a modern computer (X2 4800, 4GB RAM, 7800GT, 1TB storage...) I use XFCE. I just like it much better than the "other" two. Short of XFCE I would go with e17. But I like Beryl and XFCE is just perfect for me.

Gnome which is what I'm used to in spite of its faults. For some odd reason I just can't get on with either KDE or XFCE. Fluxbox is OK (ish) for experimental purposes but is a bit of a sod to configure (RTFM I suppose ).

The most I've used GNOME was in Fedora last year; using Debian and Sidux made me appreciate KDE again.

Although openbox doesn't use much less RAM than KDE or GNOME on my machine, it's much faster. If I understood memory management that would make sense.

It's so fast that I don't want to use anything else.

I switch between GNOME with Openbox as window manager and pure Openbox.
