    FC6 - Locking Up

    Hi,
I am having trouble having my FC6 installation locking up. It may be related to I/0 operations
or USB. The most annoying thing is that I am unable to switch to another terminal using crtl+alt+f?.

I am using a dell optiplex gx620. I have 3 mapped drives using cifs. My dmesg | grep usb is:

    usbcore: registered new driver usbfs
    usbcore: registered new driver hub
    usbcore: registered new driver libusual
    usbcore: registered new driver hiddev
    usbcore: registered new driver usbhid
    drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver
usb usb1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb usb2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb usb3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb usb4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb usb5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb 1-1: device not accepting address 2, error -71
usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [Dell Dell USB Keyboard] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-1
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Logitech Optical USB Mouse] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-2
usb 5-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
usb 5-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
    usb-storage: device found at 4
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
    usbcore: registered new driver usb-storage
    usb-storage: device scan complete

I do get an error on load up:
    usb1-1 ..accepting address2, error -71

If anybody requires any more info, please just ask.

    Thanks
    D

    isnt usb 1-1 your keyboard?
have you checked your BIOS settings for USB and keyboard?
have you tried with a different keyboard?

Yes - isnt usb 1-1 your keyboard?

There were no options for keyboard, tried swapping the hd into another box.
Hopefully it was a hardware fualt. If it crashes again my sys admin is going to
    make me install CentOS

    Thanks, D
