    Sharing Files by Connecting to a Linux System from a Windows System

    Hi! I'm just wondering if anyone here could help me on how to see my /home/arvin/Shared (FC5) using windows. I used samba to make it run. I can view my windows shared folders. Im just wondering how could I view my linux folder. this is what i did on my smb.conf:

    # Samba config file created using SWAT
    # from (
    # Date: 2006/10/20 19:31:26

    workgroup = NETWORK1
    netbios name = TEST
    server string = Samba Server
    interfaces = vmnet1, vmnet8
    root directory = /
    socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
    ldap ssl = no
    username = brandnubian01, arvin
    valid users = brandnubian01
    read list = brandnubian01
    write list = brandnubian01
    hosts allow =

    path = /home/arvin/Shared
    only user = Yes
    map system = Yes
    map readonly = no
    available = No
    set directory = Yes

    Many Thanks!

    I am just wondering if you have SELinux enabled?
    It may be blocking the access to your /home
    If you have it enabled, try disabling it and or setting it to permissive and see if it helps.
    You can also Modify SElinux policy under Samba to allow Samba to share users home directories.
    Or you could try making a new Share directory, which is not located in your /home
