View Full Version : Sendmail SMTP AUTH problem

I can't configure SENDMAIL to successfully require authentication to
relay mail.

If I connect from a remote client using properties 'My server requires authentication' the mail will be successfully delivered to the server and forwarded if I enter a valid account name and password. I will NOT BE ABLE TO RELAY if the username and password are not correct!

Everything OK till now, but...

If I configure the client not to send SMTP authentication I can STILL SEND MAIL.

The client is Outlook Express, so it uses AUTH LOGIN.

EHLO response is:
250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES
250-PIPELINING
250-8BITMIME
250-SIZE
250-DSN
250-ETRN
250-AUTH GSSAPI DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN
250-DELIVERBY
250-HELP

Happy to hear any suggestions! Thanks!!
