I have some questions about the log entrys mailed to my root account.
I am still using FC3.
What does the entry mean ? Does any crond-script trying to login
as root ? The second part (su) is ok. I made an yum update.

--------------------- pam_unix Begin ------------------------

crond:
Unknown Entries:
session opened for user root by (uid=0): 104 Time(s)
session closed for user root: 103 Time(s)

su:
Sessions Opened:
(uid=0) -> root: 4 Time(s)
internet(uid=505) -> root: 1 Time(s)

---------------------- pam_unix End -------------------------

Bad cron-script ??? Where should i look at ?

--------------------- Cron Begin ------------------------

**Unmatched Entries**
STARTUP (V5.0)
STARTUP (V5.0)
STARTUP (V5.0)

---------------------- Cron End -------------------------

Thank you.

Cron tasks used for system maintenance (logrotate and similar) must run as root. The mail message is normal.

Ok. When it is normal that's good. But what is the meaning ? Where should i look at (tutos/docs) to understand it.
But what is the problem with 'unmatched entries' ?
Thank you.
