Hi.
I've just installed the pwc drivers to enable me to use my Logitech 4000 Pro webcam on Linux.
Does anyone know if there are any aplications that have been developed that allow you to zoom and change the offset of the camara image, I know its possible in windows with the official software but I need direct control.
I have tried setpwc but that seems to only support the pan and tilt functions of the Logitech Orbit/Sphere.
Cheers.
Jim

I'm unware of any.

Out of curiousity, which pwc drivers did you use? My QuickCam 3000 is still giving me just grey.

Got my driver from
http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/
Just read the install.en

You can get all the info from the webcam using setpwc

Very handy.

It could be the software your using.
I had problems in the begining as I thought the image format was RGB.
It's not, It's YUV planar 4:2:0 which is similar to PAL.
That is the colour information is seperated from the intensity data.

http://www.fourcc.org/yuv.php
This may not affect you as I want access the camera data directly and most
software should check the image format for you.

One way to check is to use the streamer command in the xawtv package.
http://linux.bytesex.org/xawtv/

streamer -o image_name.jpeg

to give a single image. This works for me.
