I have never attempted this before so I have no clue where to even start.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 running Core 4. I want to put some of my videos onto my TV via S-Video. But, I don't even know how to activate the port and can't seem to find anything.

If someone could please post instructions on not just how to activate the port, but also how to get video to the tv.

Thanks,
Keith

It would help knowing what video card you have (Nvidia, Ati, etc). I do know you can use S-Video out with Nvidia cards. Not sure about Ati. There are instructions in the readme.txt (ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-7667/README.txt) file which accompanies the Nvidia driver release. Read Appendix H. Configuring TV-Out for more information. You are going to have to hack /etx/X11/xorg.conf in order to get tv out working. Be sure to create a backup copy before making any edits to any configuration files.

Doh! Sorry for being a newb there.

I have an ATI Radeon Mobility 7500. I had seen that thread, but as it applied to NVidia cards I started a new thread.

The link you psted was for Xfree86 but, i have xorg.
Plus, the latest drivers from ati.com doesn`t support my 7500 mobility radeon(supposedly to old?)
