I am following the process here, http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=26260&highlight=X-server, for installing nVidia FX5600 graphics card. The problem comes after > modprobe nvidia. That works fine but when I do a "chmod 0666 /dev/nvidia" I get the comment: No such file or directory.
What am I doing wrong?
Please help!

The way i installed the Nvidia Drivers: Ctrl+Alt+F1, then typed "root" then the root password, then typed "init 3", then waited for a sec, typed Ctrl+Alt+F1 again and pressed enter to get the command prompt again. Then used the cd command to go to the nvidia directory, then sh *.run (it was in its own directory) then after it installed i typed in "init 5" then i opened konsole and typed "gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf" and made these changes

Section "Module"
Load "dbe"
Load "extmod"
Load "fbdevhw"
Load "glx"
Load "record"
Load "freetype"
Load "type1"
#Load "dri" --------------------(commented out this entry)
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nvidia" ----------(changed nv to nvidia)
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX (generic)"
EndSection

then restarted the computer

Thats it
