I am trying to install Fedora 4 on a HP LH4 Server. I have an old 17" monitor connected. I was not able to use graphical mode during install, so I used text mode and it seems to have installed. But when I boot the GUI still comes up all screwed up -- mulitiple vertical stripes across screen, content unreadable. I tried using Lowres and Resolution 640x480 but neither worked. I'm not familiar enough with the Linux command lines to live with it in text mode. Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

Thanks

does the monitor work on another computer
the dead monitor in my attic displays the same errors, it's hardware failure
might be your problem too

I haven't tried it on another computer yet. I assumed since I was able to see text and the blue install screens that it wasn't the monitor. A friend of mine also got one of these LH4 servers and experienced a similar problem. He's content with command line mode because he is more familiar with Linux. I will bring home my laptop from work and connect it to the monitor and test it.

Thanks
