Newbie query this one... I'm trying to install the Flash plugin for Firefox 1.0.6 in FC4 - the automatic install in Firefox keeps failing, so I've downloaded the standalone Linux plugin and extracted it. During the yum installation, however, it asks which folder it should put the plugin in - and I can't seem to find the original Firefox folder... can anyone tell me where it might be and, as a general rule, where does Fedora put all newly-installed apps for future reference?

Open your terminal and type cd /usr/lib/. The folder is inside /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.6/plugins/ .

Unless you've installed firefox locally, then it should reside in /usr/local/firefox/plugins. Hope this helps.

It's actually better to use /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ - then you don't have to worry about moving it when firefox 1.0.7 comes along.

Just use the rpm for flash plugin:
