Hi.... I am glad that FC4 is here.....

Now I am using OpenOffice, and Scribus, The GIMP, Sodipodi, Skencil for doing my work for layouting some publications and I need more fonts. How can I add more fonts since FC4 does not have much font collections... its's too standard for designing layout for publications. And where should I go to get Fonts for Linux especially for FC?

Or can I isntall fonts for windows fonts from font sites?

Thanks.....

If you're running KDE, download MS True Type core fonts from here (http://thelinuxbox.org/files/msttcorefonts.tar.gz), and open Control Center/System Admin/Font Installer, click "add fonts", and then select the zipped font package.

Canmasagi,
1) Here is a link for 1000s of true type fonts:
http://grsites.com/fonts/
2) Here is a link on how to install them:
http://voidmain.is-a-geek.net/redhat/fedora_1_fonts_adding_truetype.html
(written for FC1 works for FC2, FC3 and FC4)

Yes, you can use windows fonts.

Just make sure they are windows 'true type fonts' (most are)

Do this (http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_4_installation_notes.html#True) for TrueType fonts.

How about you download a 157.7MB fonts.tar.gz with 6,760 fonts :)
Scroll to the end of the page: http://thelinuxbox.org/Downloads.php

Hm. I can't select archives to install, only font files.
What is the preferred way to install fonts in FC4? I've read at least three ways to install fonts on this forum. Is there any way to organize fonts in folders?

Just extract the package, and select the font files. That's the easiest way to install fonts that I know of.
