Hi.

I need a piece of software to draw a floor plan of a house, to scale, including things like room diamensions, doors, windows, etc. It need to be simply to use and if possible free as I only need to use it once (at the moment).

Can anyone recommend anything?

I have already tried qcad, but found it extremely difficult to use. I have also tried using OpenOffice Draw, but it doesn't seem like it is right for the job, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Thanks

Andrew.

You could try Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/) but i think Qcad would be your best option.

edit: I found an architectural package that you could try, it will have a learning curve but comes with tutorials to help you along. http://www.cycas.de/

Okey dokey. Thanks for the update ... but the thread is 7 years old, and therefore ... quite necrotic. <..:)..>

Thread closed.

P.S. BTW, try Wings 3D (http://www.wings3d.com/).

Kernellinux: I've been looking for such software these days and all I could find was old reviews of SweetHome 3D. Could you provide a detailed feedback about it?
