I was compiling alsa-driver-1.0.9rc4a and while
compiling I had a power failure, when I restarted the
computer the sound server was crashed, I get this
message each time I start the KDE session:

"Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (No such
file or directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output
device."

And the sound is not working. I tried to recompile the
alsa-driver-1.0.9rc4a and I did it fine, but the sound
is not working yet. In addition if I check the alsa
version with "alsactl --version" I still have the
1.0.6 so I don know if the alsa-driver-1.0.9rc4a was
correct. So any idea about how to fix the alsa driver
again ?

Thanks

PD: By the way, since this alsa crash I can not start
gnome sessions, maybe gnome tries to load the sound
and it crashes, is there any way to make gnome boot
anyway ?
