hey everyone, i'm a new to the forums and i was wondering if there was a size limitation on size of the swap partitions, and what is the best way to utilize swap with fedora core 4.

The general rule of thumb is to make the swap size 2 x the amount of ram you have. For most folks, not running servers or special systems, 512 meg to 1 gig is more than enough.
Swap is utilized by the OS when it needs more RAM (all ram is utilized already). It is not something you have to mess with.
