View Full Version : Internet Connect Upon Startup

Today officially marks my first day using Linux, or for that matter anything other than DOS/Windows. Using this (http://www.houseofcraig.net/acx100_howto.php) guide I was able to get my wireless card functioning well. The hiccup here is that upon restarting my computer the connection won't be established until I open a terminal and run my "net_start" script. What do I need to do to automate my connection?

Thanks.

Just install webmin. You can add your own script to the bootup/shutdown section.

It will generate a script like this on (this example is mine to connect to the internet during bootup).

#!/bin/sh
# description: ADDED BY LVS TO CONNECT TO EDPNET
# chkconfig: 2345 99 00

case "$1" in
'start')
eciadsl-start | tee log.txt
touch /var/lock/subsys/adslconnect
;;
'stop')
rm -f /var/lock/subsys/adslconnect
;;
*)
echo "Usage: $0 { start | stop }"
;;
esac
exit 0
